This is actually a new experiment of mine that is in the crock pot as we speak! So I will be updating this post after we actually sit down to dinner and eat it. I wanted to try this one because 1. My husband, like a lot of men, absolutely loves bacon, and 2. we had a whole pack of unopened bacon laying in the fridge that was probably gonna go bad soon. So I was thinking of ways to use it and said ok how about I wrap chicken breasts with the bacon, marinate it in some italian dressing, and throw it in the crock pot. Sounded good to me (and my husband agreed) so yeah here we are ;)
Ingrediants:
chicken breasts (I used 2 but you can use as many as will fit in your crock pot)
Italian dressing (I used Ken's Northern Italian with Basil and Romano but you can use your favorite)
Bacon! (at least 1 pack, more if making 3+ pieces of chicken)
Basically you simply take slices of bacon and wrap them around the chicken breast until it is fully covered. To wrap the 2 breasts that I used took almost an entire pack of bacon. I then placed the bacon wrapped chicken in the crock pot, threw the remaining slices of bacon in on top, then poured the Italian dressing over the whole thing. I put it on high for 4-5 hours because I did not get up early enough to cook it on low, but ideally it's always best to cook things with marinades on low because on high it can sometimes obliterate the marinade.
So that's it really. Not hard, right? I will be updating later as to how it actually tasted so stay tuned ;)
